Hotspot parking permit instructions
How it works
Register with HotSpot by providing your name, contact details and vehicle license plate. You can buy permits with a credit card or Visa/Debit. A HotSpot account is not required to buy permits, but future online purchases will require registered users to log in. Convenience fees: $0.50 for daily permits and $2.00 for monthly permits for online purchases. No fee for in-person purchases at Town Hall.
Enforcement
No hang‑tag is required. Enforcement staff scan licence plates to validate virtual permits.
Multiple vehicles
Add multiple vehicles to one account. Before parking, select the vehicle (plate) that matches the car. The permit holder is responsible for ensuring the correct plate is selected.
Create an account — Mobile app
- Download the HotSpot app on your smartphone from the App Store or Google Play.
- Open app → Get Started → enter full name, email, create password.
- Enter verification code sent by text.
- Select province and city; choose Parking as user preference.
- Add vehicles: Menu → Add Vehicle → enter plate and details → confirm plate.
Create an account — Web
- Go to www.htsp.ca → Login or Sign up.
- Fill required fields and create account.
- Go to Vehicles tab → add vehicle details → Save.
- Claim your virtual permit so it links to your licence plate.
Buy a permit — Mobile app
- Open app → Menu → Purchase a Permit.
- Select City: Town of Yarmouth → Location/Lot → choose permit.
- Select Plate: choose your vehicle.
- Toggle Auto‑renew if you want recurring permits → Purchase → complete payment.
Buy a permit — Web
- Log in at www.htsp.ca → Permits tab → Purchase permit for Current Month.
- City: Town of Yarmouth → Lot: Downtown (or select available lot) → Permit → Vehicle: choose added vehicle.
- Check Auto‑renew if desired → Continue → confirm and pay.
