Water Utility

water

Water service is essential to any growing community, which is why the Yarmouth Water Company was incorporated in 1879 to provide Yarmouth with water. In 1891, the Town of Yarmouth bought control of Lake George and the distribution of water from the Lake George Water Company. This began a long history for the town and our concern for water quality and supply. Even today, we have plans in place to continue upgrading our water utility system.

For more information about our water services, check out the Water Services page.

Lake George Watershed

The Lake George Reservoir serves as the town’s water source. For the safety of those who access the water from Lake George, there are restrictions in place concerning construction, land use, and activities in and around the lake watershed. This includes the lake itself, as well as the area with run-off into the lake. For complete details and a map, check out the PDF section below.
