The Town of Yarmouth is the recipient of the "Plant and Floral Displays Award".
It's no secret that the Town of Yarmouth has some of the most dedicated volunteers, especially when it comes to making the landscape beautiful every spring and summer. Communities in Bloom Yarmouth NS (CIB Yarmouth) and numerous gardening volunteers offer up their time every year to make the town pop with colourful blooms. Their efforts this year drew attention at the 2021 Communities in Bloom - Collectivités en fleurs Virtual Symposium “Growing Great Places Together”. The Town of Yarmouth was the recipient of the "Plant and Floral Displays Award".
"This is a true honour for the Town of Yarmouth Communities in Bloom committee," said CIB Yarmouth Chair and Town Councillor Heather Hatfield. "A huge thank you to the town parks staff, the Yarmouth Garden Club and all the volunteers that put in endless hours to make this possible. Growing beautiful flower displays in a seaside town can be challenging, and being judged against some of the best growing regions in the country can be a little intimidating. But this award proves that we are doing a great job!"
This is a tremendous achievement and yet another feather in the cap for the people who put their hands in the dirt every year. Thank you to each and every volunteer and congratulations for winning yet another prestigious national CIB award!
