What is the Hearing About?

This Public Hearing will address the following two items:

1. Proposed Development Agreement for 150 Water Street

The owner of 150 Water Street has applied to enter into a Development Agreement to permit one short-term rental accommodation unit (at 150 Water Street - PID# 90193798), without requiring the operator’s primary residence to be located on the same lot. Council has approved to move forward with a Public Hearing prior to consideration of the requested Development Agreement. You may obtain more information, including the Planner’s report at Yarmouth Town Hall, 400 Main Street during regular buinsess hours, or online: https://getinvolvedyarmouth.ca/150waterstreet

2. Proposed Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use Bylaw

In 2024, the Town launched a planning review of its Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use Bylaw. After extensive review and public engagement, these key documents have been updated and will establish a new framework to guide land use, development, growth, and conservation within the Town of Yarmouth. Council will hear submissions from any interested person regarding the proposed Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use Bylaw before making a decision on their adoption. Copies of both documents are available for review at Yarmouth Town Hall during regular business hours and online at: https://getinvolvedyarmouth.ca/planningreview
