1. The Sale of 341 Main Street (Town-Owned Property)

Following a public hearing, council approved the sale of town-owned property at 341 Main Street to the Lands End Arts & Culture Society, a not-for-profit organization, for $1. The sale allows the society to use the building to create an arts and culture hub in the downtown that will see a broad range of offerings that could include music, community-based activities and events, and other offerings within the arts sector.

2. Sale of Town-Owned Properties at 1 Forest Street and 228 Main Street

Following a public hearing, council approved the sale of town-owned properties at 1 Forest Street (PID 90194770), 228 Main Street (PID 90342528), lands known as PID 90194804, and a portion of existing road (PID 90282690) to GCORP Real Estate Group (3299425 NOVA SCOTIA LIMITED) represented by Justin Ghosn, CEO and Director, for $10. The sale will enable the developer to construct a 45,000-square-foot mixed-use development consisting of commercial space and residential units, supported by on-site parking for tenants and visitors.

3. Repeal of Idling Control Bylaw

Council passed second reading to repeal the Idling Control Bylaw. While the bylaw was introduced to have a positive impact, it has proven to be impossible to enforce. A copy of the repealed bylaw can be requested by emailing admin@townofyarmouth.ca
