This is to serve notice that the Council of the Town of Yarmouth at its meeting on February 12, 2026 at 6:30 pm, at Yarmouth Town Hall, 400 Main Street, approved the following:
Housing Accelerator Fund Action Plan – Planning Amendments
The approved amendments to the Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use Bylaw clarify permissions for accessory dwelling units, refine residential lot requirements, enable more housing downtown and update regulations for supportive housing. The approved Land Use Bylaw amendments also include a set of rezonings of lots in proximity to several key Town institutions such the Yarmouth Hospital and the Nova Scotia Community College. These changes are directly associated the federal Housing Accelerator Fund initiatives.
