Bill Payments During Potential Canada Post Strike

Another Canada Post strike may begin later this week. As a result, sending in payments by mail for water/sewer, tax accounts and other services will see your payment delayed. Although mail is convenient for some, here are a few other easy options that don't require a stamp and envelope:
Brown Street Parking Lot Upgrades/EV Charging Installations

Nova Scotia Power, in partnership with Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) and the Nova Scotia Department of Energy, is expanding the province's fast-charging network. As announced earlier this year, Yarmouth has been selected as one of 15 locations to receive new Level 3 DC fast-charging stations. The stations will be installed in the Brown Street parking lot, with the project kicking off the week of May 12th.
Notice of Second Reading - Sewer Charges Bylaw

This is to serve notice that the Council of the Town of Yarmouth, at its meeting on Thursday, May 8th, 2025, at 6:30 pm, at town hall, 400 Main Street, will consider and, if deemed advisable, approve the second reading for its Sewer Charges Bylaw. Written submissions with questions, concerns, or comments will be considered at the time of the readings. They may be delivered to town hall, or by emailing: admin@townofyarmouth.ca

This is a simple housekeeping amendment to update wording in section 3.1 of the bylaw (changing "rates" to "consumption used").

Water Main Flushing: Areas affected Wednesday, May 7th

The Yarmouth Water Utility's water main flushing program is in progress. Flushing will take place today from 9 am to 4:30 pm and 6 pm to 9 pm in the area of: Tooker Street to South town limits, from Pleasant Street to Water Street.
Some discoloration and fluctuation in water pressure may be experienced during this period. Customers are advised to not wash clothes during this time. The Yarmouth Water Utility apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.
