Community Asset Advisory Committee
Created for the Community Asset Donation Program, this Committee
Emergency Management Committee
The Joint Emergency Management Executive Committee is a committee established jointly with the Municipality of the District of Yarmouth. The mandate of the committee is to:
- advise Council on the development of municipal emergency management plans
- present municipal emergency management plans to Council
- submit to the Councils
for inclusion in their annual estimates, estimates of expenditures for the operation and maintenance of the Joint Yarmouth Emergency Management Organization - brief Council on developments during a local state of emergency
- perform such other duties as
may be required by the Council

Heritage Advisory Committee
The mandate of the Heritage Advisory Committee is to advise Town Council on matters respecting:
the inclusion of buildings, streetscapes and areas in the municipal registry of heritage property- an application for permission
to substantially alter or demolish a municipal heritage property - the preparation, amendment, revision or repeal of a conservation plan and conservation by-law
- the administration of heritage conservation districts
pursuant to the provisions of the Heritage Property Act - an application for a certificate that
is required by the Heritage Property Act or the conservation plan and conservation by-law to go to a public hearing - building or other regulations that affect the attainment of the intent and purpose of the Heritage Property Act
- any other matters conducive to the effective carrying out of the intent and purpose of the Heritage Property Act

Pension Advisory Committee
The mandate of the Pension Advisory Committee is to review the operation of the Pension Plan (1) to
- to ensure that the Plan, as administered by the Town,
is conducted in a manner consistent withthe provisions of the official Pension Plan document and governing legislation - to advise Council on matters relating to any new plan or on revisions to the existing plan

Police Advisory Board
The Police Advisory Board
- determine, in consultation with the Chief Officer or the Chief Officer's designate, priorities, objectives and goals respecting police services in the community
- ensure the Chief Officer establishes programs and strategies to implement the priorities, objectives and goals respecting police services
- ensure that community needs and
values are reflected in policing priorities, objectives, goals, programs and strategies - ensure that
police services are delivered in a manner consistent with community values, needs and expectations - act as a conduit between the community and the Yarmouth Town RCMP
- recommend policies, administrative and organizational direction for the effective management of the Yarmouth Town RCMP
- review with the Chief Officer or the Chief Officer's designate information provided by the Chief Officer respecting complaints and internal discipline

The Yarmouth Recreation Committee is a joint committee of the Town of Yarmouth and the Municipality of the District of Yarmouth. Its mandate is to identify, develop, implement, provide, expand or otherwise ensure that recreational programs, activities, and events are available to residents from the Town and the Municipality of the District of Yarmouth,

Mariners Centre Management Board
On behalf of the Town and Municipality of Yarmouth, the Mariners Centre Management Board administers and manages the Mariners Centre property. The Board has

Waste Check
- identify options for an integrated solid waste-resource management system for the Region which are environmentally sound, socially acceptable and financially
feasible - determine the optimum solid waste-resource management system for the region
as a whole, giving appropriate consideration to maximizinglong term benefits (ecological, social, and economic) and minimizing capital and operating costs - identify reduction, reuse, recycling, composting and construction and demolition waste recovery programs, consistent with the selected option for disposal of residual waste and which will achieve the target of 50% percent diversion by the year 2000
- notwithstanding the 50% diversion target,
indentify options for each of the specific diversion programs which may be more capital intensive and have higher operating costs, but which will enable the region to exceed the target and generate higher diversion credits from the Resource Recovery Fund Board Inc. - increase public awareness of the regional solid waste resource management and promote participation in existing programs while the regional plan is being prepared
- act as the steering committee guiding the overall process and monitor the work of the subcommittees, review progress at key milestones and adjust the work plan as determined appropriate
- administer the project budget within the amount provided by the Department of the Environment

Yarmouth Airport Corporation
The Yarmouth International Airport Corporation is a municipal corporation responsible for all aspects of development of the Yarmouth International Airport (YQI).
The Town of Yarmouth partners with the Municipalities of the Districts of Yarmouth, Argyle, and Clare to form and support the Corporation. Each Municipality appoints two representatives to the Board of Directors, which meets each month. The Town's appointees are:
