Steve is the youngest member to join Yarmouth Town Council after winning the May 2019 by-election. A proud Yarmouthian, Steve has a strong connection with our youth. He attended St Thomas University and has worked at YCMHS for the last 13 years. Promising to be a strong communicator who listens to the public, he hopes to promote community based events that will help build Yarmouth pride throughout the town. Steve’s community involvement includes being a founding member of the Jstrong Fund, a local charity that has raised over $100,000 to support youth in sports. Steve is also a member of the Maple Grove School Advisory Committee and is involved in Restorative Justice Initiatives. For his strong contributions to the initiatives program, Steve was recently elected to its Board of Governors. He was also a Math Specialist/Tutor at the BEA Cultural Academic Enrichment Program for over 15 years. He is the organizer of YCMHS Safe Grad and a recipient of a Nova Scotia Human Rights Award with No Glory Productions. Steve is the current President of Yarmouth CoEd Softball League and head organizer of the Jstrong Softball Tournament, well as the Jstrong Cup a street hockey tournament which on Main Street.
