hugh-cann-houseThe house at 56 William St. was built in 1885 by shipowner Hugh Cann, a bachelor, for his niece on condition that she add "Cann" to her name. It was built facing the garden to the South. Notice the steep hip roof, the "shed" dormers and the shingle pattern.
