salvation-armyTo the left is the Salvation Army Citadel. J.M. Lawson in his Yarmouth Reminiscences says "The Salvation Army opened fire on 'Sin, Pride and the Devil' in Yarmouth on Sunday, August 30, 1886 in the Bijou Skating Rink, which was subsequently purchased by them and converted to their present Barracks." Next door, the Medical Arts Building was a private residence, the American consulate and a marine school. Today, it is still owned by the Salvation Army but is now used as the Thrift Store.
