22-Collins-StreetThe Yarmouth Town & County Museum built in 1893 of Shelburne County granite was originally the Congregation Tabernacle. In 1925 it became Central United Church. The museum, which opened in 1969, is an award winning museum and contains artifacts of Yarmouth's rich history including one of the finest ship portrait collections in Canada. Collins Street's stately houses with their spreading chestnut trees show evidence of the skill of many a master builder. Note particularly the cream-coloured house next to the museum, the family house of Mrs. Alfred Fuller, wife of the original Fuller Brush Man. The brick house opposite built in 1900 served for many years as the Yarmouth Library and is a fine example of the Queen Anne style.
