The Yarmouth Regional Hospital is part of the South West District Health Authority and provides care to more than 62,000 people in Yarmouth, Digby, and Shelburne Counties. It is the mission of the Yarmouth Regional Hospital to work with individuals, families and partners to promote and improve the health of our communities. We use resources wisely to provide access to a broad range of quality health services.
The Yarmouth Hospital has over 120 in-patient beds with services that include a 24-hour emergency department, a new district cancer centre, renal dialysis unit, a state-of-the art diagnostic imaging department with MRI, an inpatient mental health unit, a state-of-the art laboratory, new inpatient units and physician offices. Community-based programs such as Mental Health Services, Addiction Services, Public Health Services, Palliative and Supportive Care Services, Seniors Services and Primary Health Care Services work closely with hospital care programs. Community-based programs support the health and wellness of our communities by focusing on education, prevention and chronic disease management.
